Kazira opened her eyes and turned to look at the time. It was 5:15 am. She sat up on her and slowly got off her bed trying not to wake up her dog, Carl who was next to her. He woke up anyway and she shrugged. “I don’t know why I even try. Your sensors are so sharp,” she said, petting her robot dog. She walked to the kitchen and got a cup of coffee. As she sipped on it she looked outside and admired how busy the day was. There were more advertising billboards floating in the sky than usual and traffic was definitely kicking in. She saw a number of people with jetpacks zoom by and she nodded. “Definitely the way to go in this crowded city,” Kazira said. Just then her phone rang. She rubbed her eyes and turned on the projector. “Kazira, thank goodness you responded on time. We need your help. Can you please meet me at the Grand Museum immediately?” Hamjaro, the Minister of AU City said. He looked rather disturbed. “Mister Hamjaro, it’s not even 6 am yet. What kind of emergency can a museum have? Did an Egyptian Mummy have a baby?” Kazira said sarcastically. Hamjaro shook his head and explained to her that it was urgent and for security reasons, he could not say much on the call so Kazira agreed to meet him.

When Kazira got to the museum there was almost nobody there. She had never really put any value on museums. Old things were just trash to her. Technology ruled the world. She saw some security guards who recognized her and asked to take pictures with her. She shrugged but agreed. “You are so pretty. My daughter has pictures of you all over her phone,” one said. Kazira shook her head and walked on. “Isn’t she just adorable?” she heard them say as she neared the meeting spot. Hamjaro was standing there with his bodyguards. He looked nervous. “Why am I here again? Is this another low-grade mission for a low-grade superhero?” she complained. Hamjaro turned to look at her sternly. “You are not a low-grade superhero and this mission is definitely not low-grade. Maybe if you took things more seriously you would understand,” he shot back. Kazira felt both offended and pleased at the same time. She noticed something strange about the museum. Most of the artifacts were missing. “There is a thief making rounds stealing precious relics. I don’t know how he is able to disable our high-security robots and Ai. Today we have put real people to do the job now because it makes no sense,” Hamjaro said. “A super high-tech thief stealing old artifacts? AU City is the most ironic place in the world,” Kazira said. “This we both agree on,” Hamjaro said. He gave her all the information they had on the thief and she set off to look for him.

When Kazira got back to her apartment, she noticed her dog’s battery was low. “Carl, I’m so sorry,” she said. She pulled out his dog bowl and he quickly stuck his mouth in it to charge. She then sat down and worked on her new case. Besides being physically strong, Kazira had extraordinary clairvoyant skills. In a matter of hours she had figured out the thief’s pattern and when the next stealing event would happen. She got her suit ready, dressed up, and went to this location. It was a local antique shop in the center of AU City. She alerted Hamjaro and he gave her security clearance to the shop. As she hid in there waiting for the thief to arrive she glanced around at all the old things in the shop and it made her cringe.

Kazira heard the subtle sound of footsteps and looked up. She saw the thief. He was in his usual black hood with a big black sack. How he got in without the alarm blowing Kazira could not tell. He walked around briefly and finally picked an artifact to put in his sack. This was her chance to come out and catch him but for some reason Kazira just watched. When he was done he turned around and made his way out. Kazira followed him. There was no car at the entrance so she figured he came with a jetpack but she didn’t see one on him either. She gasped as he jumped down the skyscraper. She looked down and saw something like a balloon pop up over him. It got him to land safely on the ground. Kazira was even more curious now. She followed him with her jetpack.

He entered a rather obscure abandoned building after running a long distance on the ground. “He lives on the ground? The perfect hideout” Kazira said. She threw a dart to stop the door he opened from closing and went into the building after him. What she saw inside was amazing. There was an aquarium with real fishes swimming in it. It was so beautiful. She also saw what looked like an old computer, called a laptop on a desk. There were so many things she didn’t recognize. “Kazira?!” the thief said. He had taken off his hooded cloak. He had sparkling brown eyes that Kazira could not help staring at. He looked nothing like a villain or even a thief. “Are you the artifact thief?” she asked. He looked away but then nodded. “I know how this looks but just give me a minute to explain,” he said. Just then there was a loud blast sound at the door. “Cover the perimeter!” Someone yelled from the same place. It was the police, probably instructed by Hamjaro to arrest the thief. Kazira turned to look at him; he was nervous and afraid. She looked around and grabbed his hand. “Come with me, she said. She turned on her Jetpack and held him close. They zoomed out through an open window. When they got to safety she turned to look at his surprised face. “Go!” she said and he ran off after saying thank you.

Kazira could not understand what just happened or why she did what she did. When she got back to the thief’s house she saw Hamjaro and his men looking through his house searching for something. “Kazira there you are. What happened? Where is the thief?” He asked. “Sorry, I lost him,” she lied. Hamjaro nodded. “Don’t worry, we will get him next time,” he said. She nodded and turned to look in the direction he ran. She didn’t know why but she hoped this would not happen.
